MAGA froths at the mouth as another ex-reality TV star jumps into major race

Former reality star Spencer Pratt's bid to unseat Democratic Mayor Karen Bass has heated up, with MAGA throwing its support behind the mayoral hopeful.

"The Hills" alum has been accused by Democrats of "copying from Republican President Donald Trump’s playbook," according to a Newsweek report published Friday.

Pratt this week launched a new campaign video with shots of him outside the homes of incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and Council Member Nithya Raman, comparing where they live to the airstream where his family has lived after losing his home during the devastating Palisades Fire in January 2025. Although other reports have indicated Pratt has lived in Carpinteria at his father's rental home.

Bass and Raman have criticized Pratt over the video.

A spokesperson for Bass told Newsweek that Pratt was "doing his best Trump impression."

Raman referred to the video as a "political stunt," saying the decision to film outside her home "feels unnecessary and reckless."

Raw Story reached out to Pratt for additional comment.

Several conservative voices have thrown their support and shown interest in backing Pratt.

"Let’s do an interview, help save LA," right-wing influencer and YouTuber Nick Shirley wrote on X.

"I always knew elder millennials were going to rise up and absolutely crush it in politics one day. That day has come," conservative commentator Amy Nixon wrote on X.

"Yes, I live in Maryland and yes, I donated to this young man to win mayor of Los Angeles and get rid of the communist [expletive] who are in power and let his house burn down. His parents house burned down and the school where his children attended also burnt down," RJ Rednose, retired U.S. lieutenant colonel, wrote on X.

"This is the best political ad I’ve ever seen," Robert Sterling, a conservative political commentator, wrote on X.

"Holy hell that was good," former Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors candidate Kevin Dalton wrote on X.
