Hyperliquid & Solana prices have remained stuck around $71 for some time and have failed to break above their respective resistance zones
-
HYPE price remains just 7-8% away from the $80 milestone, while SOL price still faces multiple resistance levels before a similar breakout can materialize.
Hyperliquid price has gained significant attention ever since the token defied the market trend and surged high to mark a new ATH. Besides, Solana has failed to clear the $75 resistance after facing a rejection from $100, while holding above the pivotal support at $60. However, after their recent rallies, both tokens faced strong resistance and failed to clear it. As a result, the cryptos continue to consolidate around $72, and it would be interesting to watch whether the HYPE price will make it to $80 first or the SOL price.
Momentum Indicators Also Favor Hyperliquid
The momentum profile further strengthens Hyperliquid’s case. HYPE’s daily RSI remains above 60 despite several weeks of consolidation, indicating that bullish momentum has largely remained intact throughout the pause. The repeated retests of the $75-$76 resistance zone also suggest buyers continue to absorb supply near local highs.
Solana presents a different picture. Its RSI has recovered from oversold conditions but remains below 50, reflecting weaker momentum following the sharp June correction. While SOL has managed to reclaim support above $67, the token has yet to demonstrate the same level of strength that characterized Hyperliquid’s advance.
Key Levels to Watch
For Hyperliquid, the immediate focus remains the $75-$76 resistance area. A decisive breakout above this zone would place $80 within striking distance and potentially open the door for a continuation toward new highs. On the downside, the $67-$68 region remains the most important support level for maintaining the current bullish structure.
Solana faces a more challenging path. Bulls must first reclaim the $77-$79 supply zone before targeting the larger resistance cluster around $87. Failure to overcome overhead resistance could leave the asset vulnerable to another retest of the $63-$65 support region.
Which Altcoin Is More Likely to Reach $80 First?
Based on the current market structure, Hyperliquid’s price appears better positioned to win the race to $80. The asset remains in a clear uptrend, trades closer to its breakout level, and continues to display stronger momentum than Solana.
That does not mean Solana’s price cannot outperform in the future. However, from a near-term trading perspective, HYPE requires a smaller move, faces less overhead resistance, and continues to attract stronger buying pressure. Unless Solana can quickly reclaim its lost support zone, Hyperliquid currently holds the technical advantage.
