Ethereum Set for Breakthrough 2026 Upgrades: 10,000 TPS and Massive Gas Boost

  • Ethereum’s Glamsterdam fork will increase gas limits to 200 million and enable parallel transaction processing.
  • Validators will shift to ZK proof validation, paving the way for faster L1 throughput.
  • Heze-Bogota fork focuses on privacy, censorship resistance, and enhanced decentralization.

Ethereum’s 2026 roadmap is centered on two major network upgrades, starting with the Glamsterdam fork, expected mid-year.

This upgrade will bring parallel transaction processing and a significant gas limit increase, from 60 million to 200 million, potentially supporting even higher limits by the year’s end.

A core feature, Block Access Lists (EIP-7928), allows Ethereum to execute multiple transactions simultaneously by mapping which transactions affect which accounts and storage slots.

Gabriel Trintinalia, a senior blockchain engineer at Consensys, explained that this will resolve long-standing bottlenecks by preloading data into memory, enabling faster execution without increasing gas costs.

Ethereum Introduces ePBS to Reduce Centralization

Other significant changes include Enshrined Proposer Builder Separation (ePBS). This is because Ethereum separates block builders and proposers to reduce centralization pressure created by MEV and increase time for validators to verify zero-knowledge ZK proofs.

A strategy proposed by Ethereum researcher Ladislaus von Daniels will make ZK validation more attractive, thus enabling roughly 10% of the validators on the network to use ZK validation methods next year, said Justin from the Ethereum Foundation.

These changes altogether put Ethereum Layer 1 on a trajectory to reach an aim of processing 10,000 transactions per second in the future.

The layer 2 networks are also set to acquire more blobs of data, with a possible total of 72 per block, allowing them to process hundreds of thousands of transactions per second.

Heze-Bogota Fork: Privacy and Decentralization in Focus

Coming after Glamsterdam, the Heze-Bogota fork is scheduled for late 2026. It aims at privacy provisions, resisting censorship, and promoting more decentralization.

The most discussed concept at this point is Fork-Choice Inclusion Lists (FOCIL). It allows many validators to combine their powers to verify transactions while certain sections of the network are not entirely reliable.

Gas limits may increase to 200 million after ePBS and could go up to 300 million by the end of this year, according to Tomasz Stańczak, co-director of the Ethereum Foundation.

But according to Vitalik Buterin, growth is not going to be even and is going to lead to inefficient operations and large contracts. Such upgrades and the plans to add interoperability layers to the Layer 2s are expected to improve the scalability and speed of Ethereum and its resistance against censorship.

The post Ethereum unveils roadmap focusing on scaling, interoperability, and security at Japan Dev Conference appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Key Takeaways Ethereum’s new roadmap was presented by Vitalik Buterin at the Japan Dev Conference. Short-term priorities include Layer 1 scaling and raising gas limits to enhance transaction throughput. Vitalik Buterin presented Ethereum’s development roadmap at the Japan Dev Conference today, outlining the blockchain platform’s priorities across multiple timeframes. The short-term goals focus on scaling solutions and increasing Layer 1 gas limits to improve transaction capacity. Mid-term objectives target enhanced cross-Layer 2 interoperability and faster network responsiveness to create a more seamless user experience across different scaling solutions. The long-term vision emphasizes building a secure, simple, quantum-resistant, and formally verified minimalist Ethereum network. This approach aims to future-proof the platform against emerging technological threats while maintaining its core functionality. The roadmap presentation comes as Ethereum continues to compete with other blockchain platforms for market share in the smart contract and decentralized application space. Shocking OpenVPP Partnership Claim Draws Urgent Scrutiny

Shocking OpenVPP Partnership Claim Draws Urgent Scrutiny

The post Shocking OpenVPP Partnership Claim Draws Urgent Scrutiny appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. The cryptocurrency world is buzzing with a recent controversy surrounding a bold OpenVPP partnership claim. This week, OpenVPP (OVPP) announced what it presented as a significant collaboration with the U.S. government in the innovative field of energy tokenization. However, this claim quickly drew the sharp eye of on-chain analyst ZachXBT, who highlighted a swift and official rebuttal that has sent ripples through the digital asset community. What Sparked the OpenVPP Partnership Claim Controversy? The core of the issue revolves around OpenVPP’s assertion of a U.S. government partnership. This kind of collaboration would typically be a monumental endorsement for any private cryptocurrency project, especially given the current regulatory climate. Such a partnership could signify a new era of mainstream adoption and legitimacy for energy tokenization initiatives. OpenVPP initially claimed cooperation with the U.S. government. This alleged partnership was said to be in the domain of energy tokenization. The announcement generated considerable interest and discussion online. ZachXBT, known for his diligent on-chain investigations, was quick to flag the development. He brought attention to the fact that U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commissioner Hester Peirce had directly addressed the OpenVPP partnership claim. Her response, delivered within hours, was unequivocal and starkly contradicted OpenVPP’s narrative. How Did Regulatory Authorities Respond to the OpenVPP Partnership Claim? Commissioner Hester Peirce’s statement was a crucial turning point in this unfolding story. She clearly stated that the SEC, as an agency, does not engage in partnerships with private cryptocurrency projects. This response effectively dismantled the credibility of OpenVPP’s initial announcement regarding their supposed government collaboration. Peirce’s swift clarification underscores a fundamental principle of regulatory bodies: maintaining impartiality and avoiding endorsements of private entities. Her statement serves as a vital reminder to the crypto community about the official stance of government agencies concerning private ventures. Moreover, ZachXBT’s analysis…
