MetaSoul Inc. has been awarded U.S. Patent No. US 12,525,251 B2 for its core emotion-aware AI voice interaction technology. The patent, titled ‘Method, system and program product for perceiving and computing emotions,’ describes a system that monitors user input, determines emotional state through voice characteristics like pitch and harmonics, and generates responses whose vocal qualities are influenced by that emotional state.

The technology represents a significant advancement in human-machine interaction by moving beyond simple tone adjustments to create a stateful emotional engine. The patent describes an ’emotion processing unit’ capable of adopting different emotional states by loading emotional state information from memory, enabling sustained emotional engagement rather than momentary tone shifts.

According to the company, emotion-aware voice technology serves as an interaction primitive for the next generation of AI companions and humanoid robotics. As humanoid robots become more prevalent in domestic settings, voice interaction becomes crucial for establishing safety and trust, particularly with children. Emotionally adaptive voice systems could enable robots to communicate more clearly, maintain composure during tense situations, and create more comfortable daily living experiences.

The patent expands MetaSoul’s portfolio of emotion-aware computing intellectual property, with priority dating back to U.S. Provisional Application No. 61/812,260 filed on July 5, 2013. The full patent documentation is available through the USPTO record.

MetaSoul plans to explore licensing opportunities with leading AI companies and developers of AI companions and embodied robotics systems. Potential partners include companies creating voice-first assistants, companion hardware, and humanoid home robots. The company has indicated it will pursue discussions with manufacturers across these sectors, though no licensing agreements have been announced.

The technology has broad applications across multiple industries. Humanoid home robots designed for family support, learning assistance, and companionship could benefit from emotionally responsive voice systems. AI companion devices and wearables could develop adaptive voice personalities that adjust to user emotional states. Customer support systems could employ the technology to modulate tone for increased empathy and conflict de-escalation.

Additional applications include gaming, augmented reality, virtual reality, and telepresence avatars featuring emotionally expressive dialogue. In-vehicle assistants could adapt their responses when detecting signs of driver stress, fatigue, or urgency through voice analysis. The company’s broader work in emotion-aware AI technologies can be explored through its company website.

The patent grant represents a milestone in developing more natural human-machine interactions, particularly as embodied AI systems become more integrated into daily life. By enabling AI systems to perceive and respond to human emotional states through voice, the technology addresses fundamental challenges in creating trustworthy, effective, and socially appropriate artificial companions and assistants.

China Blocks Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D as Local Chips Rise

The post China Blocks Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D as Local Chips Rise appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. China Blocks Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D as Local Chips Rise China’s internet regulator has ordered the country’s biggest technology firms, including Alibaba and ByteDance, to stop purchasing Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D GPUs. According to the Financial Times, the move shuts down the last major channel for mass supplies of American chips to the Chinese market. Why Beijing Halted Nvidia Purchases Chinese companies had planned to buy tens of thousands of RTX Pro 6000D accelerators and had already begun testing them in servers. But regulators intervened, halting the purchases and signaling stricter controls than earlier measures placed on Nvidia’s H20 chip. Image: Nvidia An audit compared Huawei and Cambricon processors, along with chips developed by Alibaba and Baidu, against Nvidia’s export-approved products. Regulators concluded that Chinese chips had reached performance levels comparable to the restricted U.S. models. This assessment pushed authorities to advise firms to rely more heavily on domestic processors, further tightening Nvidia’s already limited position in China. China’s Drive Toward Tech Independence The decision highlights Beijing’s focus on import substitution — developing self-sufficient chip production to reduce reliance on U.S. supplies. “The signal is now clear: all attention is focused on building a domestic ecosystem,” said a representative of a leading Chinese tech company. Nvidia had unveiled the RTX Pro 6000D in July 2025 during CEO Jensen Huang’s visit to Beijing, in an attempt to keep a foothold in China after Washington restricted exports of its most advanced chips. But momentum is shifting. Industry sources told the Financial Times that Chinese manufacturers plan to triple AI chip production next year to meet growing demand. They believe “domestic supply will now be sufficient without Nvidia.” What It Means for the Future With Huawei, Cambricon, Alibaba, and Baidu stepping up, China is positioning itself for long-term technological independence. Nvidia, meanwhile, faces…
