PETALING JAYA: A discipline teacher was injured after allegedly being punched by a group of students at a secondary school in Kuala Kangsar yesterday.
Khairuddin Abu Hanipah.
Bernama reported that the incident was believed to have stemmed from the students’ dissatisfaction after the teacher cut the hair of one of them.
Perak education, higher education, youth and sports committee chairman Khairuddin Abu Hanipah said he was waiting for a detailed report from the state education department on the matter.
“Further checks are being conducted to determine the authenticity of the incident before any official statement is issued.
“If it is true, it is an inappropriate act because teachers are educators who guide schoolchildren,” he was quoted as saying after officiating a programme at the Sultan Yusuff Izzudin Shah Mosque in Seri Iskandar today.
