Cardano Wallet Alert Grows as Yoroi and SecondFi Enter Maintenance Mode

SecondFi enters maintenance mode after a Cardano wallet security issue, pausing transactions and warning users about scams.

Cardano wallet users are watching new security warnings after reports of wallet drains reached the community. 

The concern involves Yoroi and SecondFi users, with SecondFi now placed into maintenance mode.

SecondFi said it identified a security issue affecting a small number of Cardano wallets on its platform. 

The team said the issue has been contained, while affected functions have been paused.

All front-end interactions are currently unavailable during the review. Users cannot complete transactions through SecondFi until the platform restores normal service.

Community warnings have advised users to check Cardano balances through public explorers. It also warned users about fake support accounts and impersonators.

SecondFi Confirms Cardano Wallet Security Issue

SecondFi released an important security update after users reported possible wallet drains linked to Cardano wallets. The team said the issue affected a small number of wallets on its platform.

The company said it has contained the issue and paused the affected functions. Its engineering team is now working to restore full functionality to the platform.

While maintenance mode remains active, users cannot complete transactions through SecondFi. The pause applies to all front-end interactions until the team provides another update.

Yoroi and SecondFi Users Urged to Check Balances

The alert has also drawn attention from Yoroi and SecondFi wallet users across the Cardano community. 

Users were advised to check their wallet balances through public Cardano explorers.

A blockchain explorer allows users to review balances without interacting with the affected platform. 

This gives users a safer way to confirm Onchain activity during the maintenance period.

At the time of the update, it was not clear whether further wallet interaction was safe. Users were told to wait for official guidance from SecondFi before taking new actions.

SecondFi said users will not be able to undertake transactions while the platform remains in maintenance mode. 

This measure was introduced to reduce further risk during the investigation.

SecondFi said it has seen fake support accounts appear after the security update. The team warned users not to trust direct messages from unknown accounts.

The company said SecondFi team members will never message users first. It also said they will never ask for seed phrases or fund transfers.

Official support is handled only through logged tickets on the SecondFi website. Users were told to rely only on official channels during the maintenance period.

The incident adds another security warning for Cardano users and connected wallet platforms. 

For now, users are being urged to check balances carefully and avoid unsafe interactions.
