FC Barcelona teen sensation Dro Fernandez has told Hansi Flick his paltry $7 million release clause will be released meaning an exit in the January transfer window could be imminent according to a number of outlets including SPORT and Mundo Deportivo, who cited anonymous sources.

SPORT reported that Dro has received a number of offers from England and Germany, which Mundo Deportivo corroborated.

On Friday morning at the Joan Gamper CT, the youngster told his manager, Flick, that he will move on.

In a few days, a meeting should be held between the player, his family and representatives in order to assess the offers that have come on for him.

As of yet, the clubs that wish to acquire Dro haven’t been named, but there are several that have “shown a strong interest” in a La Masia-bred youngster who has already featured for the first team, regularly forms part of Flick’s matchday squads and is available for a relative pittance.

Dro’s senior time with FC Barcelona was memorable but brief

Making his official first team debut on September 28 in a La Liga match against Real Sociedad, Dro has made four appearances in the Spanish top flight so far but those have seen him notch just 89 minutes on the pitch collectively.

A 59-minute start against Olympiakos in the Champions League, where he provided an assist, was a positive sign for Dro. Yet he hasn’t featured for Barca since coming off the bench against Atletico Madrid on December 2 and might feel frozen out.

In the Copa del Rey, and Thursday night’s 2-0 last 16 win over Racing Santander, Dro might have expected to pick up minutes but that wasn’t the case as Lamine Yamal and Marcus Rashford started on the wings while the teenager remained an unused substitute.

FC Barcelona might be left to rue Dro’s departure

If he kicks on elsewhere, his current club might be left to rue Dro’s departure and having him tied down with such a relatively low release clause.

The Catalans have already paid for this before with Marc Guiu, who left for Chelsea in 2024, and the nature of such exits means there is no buyback clause for FC Barcelona to reacquire these youngsters years down the line.

The GENIUS Act Is Already Law. Banks Shouldn’t Try to Rewrite It Now

The post The GENIUS Act Is Already Law. Banks Shouldn’t Try to Rewrite It Now appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Healthy competition drives innovation and better products for consumers; it is at the center of American economic leadership. Unfortunately, now that the bipartisan GENIUS Act has been signed into law, major legacy financial institutions seem to be having second thoughts about the innovations that stablecoins can bring to financial markets. Bank lobbying groups and public affairs teams have been peppering Congress with complaints about the law, urging members to reopen debate and introduce changes to the legislation that will ensure the stablecoin market doesn’t grow too quickly, protecting banks’ profits and stifling consumer choice. This reactionary response is both overblown and unnecessary. What legacy financial firms should do instead is embrace competition and offer exciting new products and services that consumers want, not try to kneecap emerging players through anti-innovation rules and regulations. The GENIUS Act was carefully designed with a thorough bipartisan process to strengthen consumer safeguards, ensure regulatory oversight, and preserve financial stability. Efforts to roll back its provisions are less about protecting families and more about protecting entrenched banking interests from the competition that helps ensure the U.S. banking system stays the strongest and most innovative in the world. Critics warn that allowing stablecoins to provide rewards could lead to massive deposit outflows from community banks, with figures as high as $6.6 trillion cited. But closer examination shows this fear is unfounded. A July 2025 analysis by consulting firm Charles River Associates found no statistically significant relationship between stablecoin adoption and community bank deposit outflows. In fact, the overwhelming majority of stablecoin reserves remain in the traditional financial system — either in commercial bank accounts or in short-term Treasuries — where they continue to support liquidity and credit in the broader U.S. economy. The dire estimates rely on unrealistic assumptions that every dollar of stablecoin issuance permanently…
