Three of the four companies in that headline are still private.
The fourth listed on Nasdaq in June, and what has happened to its share price since then is the most useful thing you can study before the next one arrives.
This page tracks where each name actually stands, what is confirmed in a filing, and what is still only reporting.

Key Takeaways
  • SpaceX priced at $135 and listed on Nasdaq as SPCX in June, raising about $75 billion in the largest IPO on record.
  • Anthropic and OpenAI have both filed IPO paperwork confidentially, so neither has a public prospectus, ticker or price range.
  • Anthropic is the only one still reported to be targeting a listing this year, and OpenAI's CEO has ruled the year out.
  • Databricks has not filed at all, and its CEO called this a terrible year to go public.
  • Anthropic treats any board-unapproved share transfer as void, which closes off most retail routes to its stock.
  • MEXC's Pre-IPO contracts quote valuation in billions, so the contract price reads directly as a market-implied valuation.

SpaceX, OpenAI and Anthropic IPO Plans 2026: Who Filed, Who Stalled

SpaceX has already listed and trades on Nasdaq under SPCX.
Anthropic and OpenAI have both submitted draft registration statements confidentially, so neither has a public prospectus.
Databricks has not filed at all.
Only Anthropic is still openly pointed at a listing inside this year, and even that date comes from reporting rather than from the company.

One rule runs through this whole page, and it is the reason the table has two different kinds of entry in it.
A fact is confirmed when it appears in a filing or comes from the company itself.
A fact is reported when it comes from journalists talking to people close to a deal, which is how almost every valuation number in private markets reaches you.
Confidential filings make that gap wider than usual, because the document exists but nobody outside the SEC has read it.

What Happened in the SpaceX IPO, and Where Does SPCX Trade Now?

SpaceX filed its Form S-1 in May and applied to list its Class A common stock under the symbol SPCX on Nasdaq and Nasdaq Texas.
The offering covered 555,555,555 shares at an offering price of $135 per share, with pricing expected on June 11.
The registration statement was declared effective that day, and the stock began trading the following session.
The SpaceX listing sequence. Source: SpaceX Form S-1 and free writing prospectus, SEC EDGAR. September trading range as of September 2026.
As of September 2026 it has traded in the $150 range, which you can check on the live SPCX price page.
The prospectus is also worth reading for what it does not promise.
SpaceX told investors it had an accumulated deficit of $41.3 billion as of March 31, 2026, and that it may not achieve profitability or sustain it if achieved.
Proceeds were earmarked for growth spending that includes AI compute infrastructure, launch vehicles and satellite capacity.
If you want the full mechanics of the listing and the share price, our complete guide to SPCX and the $135 share price covers them step by step.

What Did the SpaceX Debut Teach the Rest of the Queue?

The lesson is unglamorous.
SPCX opened at $150 on June 12, ran to an intraday high of $176.52, and closed at $160.95, which means the people who paid the high of the day were already down about 9% by the closing bell.
Cerebras had done the same thing a month earlier, opening at $385 against a $185 offering price and closing its first day at $311.
When the real shares arrived, the price had to answer to earnings, lock-ups and ordinary sellers instead of to expectations.
That is the sequence to expect when the next name in this table lists.

When Is the Anthropic IPO, and Has Anthropic Filed Anything?

That confirms a filing exists.
It does not give you a ticker, a price range, a share count or a date, because a confidential submission is not published on EDGAR.
Reporting has pointed to a fourth-quarter Nasdaq listing, and Anthropic has not confirmed that.
The valuation numbers around Anthropic come from the same reporting layer.
Bloomberg first reported in August that its annualized revenue run rate had passed $65 billion at the end of July, up from about $9 billion at the end of 2025, and CNBC confirmed Anthropic had shared the figure with investors.
Treat all of those as reported, not filed.
For the round-by-round detail and the competitive picture, see our Anthropic IPO valuation and how-to-invest breakdown.

Can You Buy Anthropic Stock Before the IPO?

Not through the routes most retail investors will be offered.
Anthropic's own support page states that any sale or transfer of its stock not approved by its board is "void and will not be recognized on our books and records," as TechCrunch reported on May 12, 2026.
The company also prohibits special purpose vehicles from acquiring its stock, and it named eight secondary platforms as unauthorized to buy or sell its shares.
Anthropic went further and warned that third parties selling its shares to the public through direct sales, forward contracts or tokenized securities are likely either committing fraud or offering something that has no value under those transfer restrictions.
Read that carefully, because it separates two things people conflate.
You can often buy price exposure to a private company.
Getting recognized ownership of its shares is a different transaction, and Anthropic has said publicly that most of what is on offer is not it.

Is OpenAI Going Public This Year?

No, according to the company.
Asked directly in a Fortune interview published on September 12, 2026, CEO Sam Altman said "I would say not 2026," adding that given everything happening with safety, this would be an ill-advised moment to go public.
OpenAI is reported to have filed confidentially as well, so the paperwork and the timeline are two separate questions.
The interesting part is the gap between what OpenAI says and what the market prices.
Altman's position is that the company lists when the business is ready and when society is ready for the technology, which is not a date.
Meanwhile OpenAI's last reported private round valued it near $852 billion, and its restructuring into a public benefit corporation in late 2025 was the real corporate event of the past year, not a filing.
Our piece on why both AI IPOs landed in the same window covers how the two processes ran in parallel.

Is Databricks Going Public?

Not yet, and not on any filed timeline.
Databricks has no registration statement on file.
Its most recent funding round was reported in August 2026 at a valuation near $190 billion, with revenue run rate reported above $7 billion.
CEO Ali Ghodsi has said an IPO could come as early as 2027 and described this year as a poor one in which to list.
Of the four headline names, Databricks is the one where the IPO conversation is furthest from any document.

The Rest of the Tech IPO Queue: Cerebras, Anduril and the Watchlist

Cerebras Systems is the name most people leave off.
Cerebras priced at $185 and began trading on Nasdaq under CBRS on May 14, a month before SpaceX, which makes it the first big AI listing of the year rather than a footnote to one.
Anduril remains private, and no listing date has been announced.
Stripe, Canva, Revolut, Figure AI and Safe Superintelligence all appear regularly in IPO previews, and none of them has confirmed a listing date.

Why Is xAI No Longer a Separate IPO Story?

Because it is inside SpaceX.
SpaceX's amended registration statement refers to equity incentive plans it assumed in what the filing itself calls the xAI Merger, alongside plans from its earlier Swarm acquisition.
That is filing-level evidence, not speculation.
Anyone still waiting for an xAI listing is waiting for something that has already happened under a different name.

A Ticker Trap Worth Knowing

XAI as a crypto ticker is not Elon Musk's AI company.
It belongs to an unrelated blockchain gaming token that has traded for years, and the name collision catches people who search for one and find the other.
Check what a contract actually tracks before you trade it, not just the letters in the symbol.

How Can You Get Exposure to a Company Before It Lists?

There are four honest answers, and each one costs you something different.
Accredited-investor marketplaces can offer real shares, but you have to qualify as an accredited investor and the issuer still has to approve the transfer.
Special purpose vehicles pool money to hold a stake, which is exactly the structure Anthropic has declared void for its own stock.
Listed funds that hold private companies trade in any brokerage account, at whatever premium or discount the market assigns them.
Pre-IPO derivatives give you price exposure with no equity attached.
  • Accredited marketplaces: real shares, high qualification bar, issuer approval required
  • SPVs: pooled exposure, and prohibited outright by some issuers
  • Listed funds: easy access, indirect holding, price can drift from underlying value
  • Pre-IPO futures: leveraged price exposure, no shares, votes or dividends
The SEC's own investor alert on pre-IPO investment scams is worth reading before you use any of them.
It makes the point that pre-IPO offerings are not registered with the agency, that the company may never go public at all, and that a market for its shares may never develop.
On the derivatives side, MEXC lists USDT-margined Pre-IPO perpetual contracts for Anthropic and OpenAI, with leverage up to 50x as published on those contract pages in September 2026.
The lineup also covers Asian chip and robotics names, including a Kimi Pre-IPO futures guide walking through one of them.
Here is the part worth understanding, because it turns the contract into a reading instrument rather than just a bet.
MEXC quotes these contracts so that valuation is expressed in billions of dollars, which the contract description states directly: if a company is valued at $800 billion, one share prices at $800.
So the price is a market-implied valuation you can read off the screen.
On September 15, 2026 the Anthropic contract traded near 2,060 and the OpenAI contract near 1,463.
Read under that convention, traders were pricing both companies well above their last reported private rounds, months before either prospectus becomes public.
That spread between the last reported private round and the live contract price is the most practical number on this page, because it updates every minute while a round valuation stays frozen at the day it closed.

What Happens to a Pre-IPO Contract Once the Company Lists?

It converts, rather than disappearing.
When a company does list, the Pre-IPO contract does not simply vanish.
MEXC converts it into a standard stock futures contract, open positions migrate without liquidation and pending orders stay valid, as set out in our explainer on what changes when a Pre-IPO contract becomes a standard contract.
That is exactly what happened to the SpaceX contract on its Nasdaq debut.

Four IPO Mechanics That Catch Beginners Out

Four of them, and they all show up in the first six months of trading.
A lock-up period stops insiders and pre-IPO investors from selling for a set window after listing, and the price often sags when those windows end.
The roadshow and book-building process is where underwriters collect institutional demand and set the final price, and the retail share of that book varies enormously: SpaceX set aside roughly 30% for individual investors, which was unusually large for a deal this size.
A direct listing skips the underwritten sale of new shares entirely, so the company raises nothing and existing holders simply begin trading.
Day-one pricing is the trap.
The opening print reflects demand from people who could not get an allocation, not a considered valuation, and SpaceX's own chart since June shows how that resolves.

Is the AI IPO Wave a Bubble?

The honest answer is that nobody knows, and the most credible warnings come from documents rather than from pundits.
Start with the filings themselves.
SpaceX disclosed a $41.3 billion accumulated deficit and told investors plainly that profitability may not arrive or may not last.
That language is standard in a prospectus, and it is also the company's own assessment.
The IMF has flagged concentration among a small number of core AI providers as a financial stability concern in its note on the economic implications of artificial intelligence.
Michael Burry, whose bet against the housing market became The Big Short, posted on X in May that adjusted for inflation these three IPOs would raise as much as roughly 300 internet and telecom listings did in 2000, and argued in September that the safety warnings coming from AI leaders are timed to their own offerings.
Those are his opinions, dated and attributable, and they sit alongside a genuine boom in AI revenue.
Hold both ideas at once.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the Anthropic IPO date?
No date is confirmed, because Anthropic's S-1 was submitted confidentially and reporting points to the fourth quarter without company confirmation.

Has OpenAI filed for an IPO?
Yes, confidentially, but CEO Sam Altman said in September 2026 that the company will not list this year.

What is SpaceX's stock ticker?
SPCX, on Nasdaq and Nasdaq Texas.

Can I buy Anthropic shares before the IPO?
Only through a transfer its board has approved, since Anthropic treats every unapproved transfer as void.

Which tech company has already completed the largest listing this year?
SpaceX, which priced 555,555,555 shares at $135 each in June.

Is Databricks going public this year?
No, its CEO has pointed to 2027 and the company has not filed a registration statement.

What happens to a Pre-IPO futures contract if the company never lists?
MEXC publishes a separate announcement setting out the settlement rules for that situation, rather than leaving the contract open indefinitely.

Do Pre-IPO futures give me shares in the company?
No, they are USDT-settled derivatives with no equity, voting rights or dividends attached.

What to Watch Next

Two things will move this page.
The first is a public S-1 appearing on EDGAR for Anthropic, which would replace most of the reported figures above with filed ones.
The second is any company-stated timeline from OpenAI, which currently has paperwork but no date.
If you want to follow the pricing in the meantime, the Pre-IPO contract pages update in real time and SPCX shows you what a finished version of this story looks like.
