Qatar Airways will increase its passenger capacity between Hamad International Airport and Dubai International Airport starting this month.

The state-backed carrier said it will expand services from two to five daily services in a phased manner to meet growing demand and provide greater flexibility for passengers.

The existing two daily flights will be increased to three this week, followed by the introduction of the fourth flight from June 15, the airline said in a statement.

The fifth daily flight will resume during the summer season.

The airline resumed operations to Dubai and Sharjah in April and restarted flights to Abu Dhabi last month following the start of the Iran war on February 28, which led to a temporary closure of airspace across the GCC.

Qatar’s flag carrier is continuing its phased restoration and expansion of its global network to more than 160 destinations by this summer, the statement said.

The airline cancelled 87 percent of its 5,697 flights in the first month of the conflict, according to data issued by aviation analytics company Cirium on March 27.

Last month, the carrier reported post-tax profit of QAR7.1 billion ($1.94 billion) for 2025-26, down about 9 percent from a record QAR7.8 billion in the previous year.

The number of passengers carried declined by around 3 percent year on year to 42 million. The cargo division also declined, carrying 1.4 million tonnes of freight, down about 9 percent year on year.
