Investigative journalist Jeremy Scahill reported that Iranian negotiators have enlisted senior psychologists to assess communications intended for President Donald Trump during ongoing peace talks with Washington.
According to Iranian sources, negotiators believe Trump is legitimately mentally ill and is operating in an impaired mental state, Scahill explained during his appearance on the podcast “Breaking Points.”

The Iranian team developed psychological profiles of Trump's condition and began tailoring messages through psychologists before delivering them to mediators.
Sources indicated this approach yielded progress, describing the interaction in clinical terms, "like they're dealing with a patient."
Trump, turning 80 Sunday, has faced renewed health scrutiny following reports of frequent dozing during cabinet meetings, hand bruising, swollen ankles, and a neck rash.
The latest Iranian strategy reflects international concern about Trump's mental and physical fitness during critical diplomatic negotiations.
