MANILA, Philippines – Starting Monday, June 22, beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program can now use their guarantee letters (GLs) in 262 Mercury Drug branches nationwide.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), which administers the AICS program, announced the resumption of its partnership with Mercury Drug Corporation to accept GLs for selected beneficiaries, a partnership that began in 2024.
(This is good news for our fellow citizens who need immediate medical assistance. It will now be easier for our beneficiaries to purchase necessary medicines and other medical supplies.)
Under the AICS program, individuals and families affected by crises can receive immediate and temporary aid in the form of medical assistance, burial, transportation, education, food, or financial assistance.
Confirmed beneficiaries may visit any participating Mercury Drug branch and present their GL, a document from government offices or public officials that promises to cover part of their medical expenses.
(We continue to strengthen our relationships with our partner establishments to bring DSWD services closer to our countrymen.)
The DSWD earlier announced a similar partnership with Generika Drugstore, with 238 participating branches.
