PETALING JAYA: The body of a man believed to have been dead for about four days was found inside a parked car on Jalan Lintang Merdeka, George Town, today.
The 55-year-old man from Bukit Mertajam was found fully clothed in the driver’s seat, with the vehicle unlocked.
Timur Laut police chief Abdul Rozak Muhammad said the man had a history of chronic illnesses and had been receiving medical treatment.
“Checks at the scene and on the body found no signs of foul play,” he said in a statement.
The body was sent to Penang Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death. The case has been classified as sudden death pending further investigations.
Police were alerted to the matter at about 9.50am after a sanitation worker reported finding an unconscious man inside the vehicle earlier in the morning.
Last month, a similar case was reported in George Town when the body of a man, believed to have been dead for five days, was found inside a vehicle parked outside an ice cream shop on Jalan Sungai Dua.
