KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 — The White House drew attention online after posting a meme referencing US President Donald Trump following the wedding of pop superstar Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce, according to Rolling Stone.
The entertainment magazine reported that shortly after Swift and Kelce were married at New York’s Madison Square Garden yesterday, the White House shared an edited image on X that mimicked illuminated signs displayed outside the venue.
Instead of the original message celebrating the newlyweds, the altered image read: “Trump Is Your President”, accompanied by the caption: “IT’S HAPPENED!!!”
According to Rolling Stone, Madison Square Garden had displayed illuminated signs reading “JUST&T MARRIED” after Swift and Kelce exchanged vows, before the couple confirmed their marriage in a press release.
Earlier the same day, the White House had also shared another social media post referencing Swift, featuring an Eras Tour-inspired poster of Trump with the caption: “It’s been a long time coming...”
The posts revived Trump’s long-running public feud with Swift, which intensified after the singer endorsed former US vice-president Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election.
Rolling Stone noted that Trump responded to the endorsement by writing on Truth Social, “I hate Taylor Swift.”
The publication also recalled that Trump later claimed in 2025 that Swift was “no longer ‘HOT’” after he publicly declared his dislike for the singer.
The tensions date back to 2018, when Swift endorsed Democratic Senate candidate Phil Bredesen over Republican Marsha Blackburn in Tennessee.
At the time, Trump said he liked Swift’s music “about 25 per cent less” following her political endorsement.
