Belgian World Cup team mocks Trump after defeating U.S. 4-1

Belgian soccer players doubled down on their mockery of President Donald Trump following their 4-1 World Cup victory over the United States on Monday night.

The video published Tuesday by Het Laatste Nieuws, a Dutch-language newspaper based in Belgium, shows the team celebrating in the locker room. The players appear to be imitating Trump's signature dance moves while singing along to the Village People's "Y.M.C.A.", a staple at Trump rallies.

In the footage, players appear to sway their hips and punch the air in Trump's characteristic style while teammates clap and whistle.

The celebration extended beyond the field, as the Belgian Red Devils posted on social media, "Overturn this," referencing Trump's FIFA meddling.

The political tension stemmed from Trump personally requesting that FIFA overturn a penalty against U.S. star player Folarin Balogun, an intervention he later admitted to on Monday. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) thanked Trump for intervening.

Commentators reacted to Belgium's mockery.

“I swear this man [is] a hex on this whole country, this is exactly what we deserve,” wrote American recording artist Abbas Hamad in a social media on X.
