BitMart Unveils Pre-Market Minting for $LIT as Trading Debut Nears

TLDR

  • Lighter Protocol uses zk-rollups for high-speed, low-cost perpetual trading on Ethereum, improving scalability and security.
  • Lighter’s tokenomics include a 25% airdrop now, 25% later, and a 3-year investor vesting schedule for long-term growth.
  • The Lighter team engages with regulators and TradFi players like Robinhood, bridging DeFi with traditional finance.
  • Lighter’s listings are organic, achieved without payments, ensuring credibility and trust within the crypto community.

BitMart has launched pre-market minting for LIT/USDT, allowing users to stake USDT in exchange for early access to Lighter Protocol’s token. The platform is providing an opportunity for traders to get involved in the $LIT token before its official market debut, which is expected to take place in late December 2025. This initiative lets users mint PreToken $LIT as part of an effort to attract early investors and participants in the growing Lighter Protocol ecosystem.

Lighter Protocol and Its Perpetual Trading Platform

Lighter Protocol, a decentralized perpetual trading platform, leverages zk-rollup technology on the Ethereum network to offer high-speed, low-cost trading for perpetual futures contracts. This Layer 2 solution enhances scalability and efficiency, enabling faster and more secure trading compared to traditional methods. The platform has drawn attention for its innovative use of zero-knowledge rollups, which aim to improve both the speed and security of trading.

As Lighter Protocol’s Token Generation Event (TGE) approaches, the project focuses on long-term growth by using protocol fees for expansion rather than dividends. The tokenomics include a 25% airdrop now and another 25% later, with a 3-year vesting schedule for investors to ensure long-term commitment.

The team is also proactively engaging with regulators and TradFi players like Robinhood, positioning itself at the intersection of DeFi and traditional finance. Listings are achieved organically, which reinforces its credibility, and no role-based rewards are offered, aligning participation with real usage. These elements contribute to the growing anticipation surrounding Lighter’s upcoming debut.

BitMart’s Pre-Market Minting Strategy

BitMart’s introduction of pre-market minting for LIT/USDT allows users to stake USDT and mint PreToken $LIT prior to the token’s full market launch. This strategy is aimed at providing early access to the Lighter Protocol ecosystem, giving participants a potential advantage when the token begins active trading. By offering pre-market minting, BitMart encourages early involvement from traders who want to benefit from potential price gains before regular trading starts.

The pre-market minting function is available exclusively to users who stake USDT. As the $LIT token gears up for full trading, the move to mint PreToken $LIT gives traders a head start. This feature is part of a broader business initiative to attract liquidity and engagement before the official token launch. The strategy mirrors similar efforts by other exchanges, where early access is seen as a way to build a loyal user base and gain competitive leverage.

Community Engagement and Airdrop Expectations

As Lighter Protocol’s TGE approaches, community discussions have intensified. Many users are focusing on points-based participation, which could lead to potential airdrops for early participants.

These debates are common in the crypto community, especially for new projects that aim to create a strong foundation of supporters before their official market entry. Lighter Protocol’s growth trajectory is being closely compared to other DeFi platforms like Hyperliquid, which have experienced notable success.

BitMart’s efforts to attract liquidity through pre-market minting are part of a broader strategy to ensure a successful debut for the $LIT token. The exchange’s move to provide early staking opportunities could help establish a more active and engaged user base, offering traders an incentive to participate before the full market launch.

Binance Futures plans to launch pre-market trading for $LIT/USDT on December 23, with leverage options of up to 5x, making it easier for traders to gain exposure to the token ahead of the official debut.

The pre-market minting and trading opportunities mark an important milestone for the Lighter Protocol and its community, positioning it for broader adoption as it prepares to enter the competitive landscape of decentralized perpetual trading platforms.

SEC Backs Nasdaq, CBOE, NYSE Push to Simplify Crypto ETF Rules

The US SEC on Wednesday approved new listing rules for major exchanges, paving the way for a surge of crypto spot exchange-traded funds. On Wednesday, the regulator voted to let Nasdaq, Cboe BZX and NYSE Arca adopt generic listing standards for commodity-based trust shares. The decision clears the final hurdle for asset managers seeking to launch spot ETFs tied to cryptocurrencies beyond Bitcoin and Ether. In July, the SEC outlined how exchanges could bring new products to market under the framework. Asset managers and exchanges must now meet specific criteria, but will no longer need to undergo drawn-out case-by-case reviews. Solana And XRP Funds Seen to Be First In Line Under the new system, the time from filing to launch can shrink to as little as 75 days, compared with up to 240 days or more under the old rules. “This is the crypto ETP framework we’ve been waiting for,” Bloomberg research analyst James Seyffart said on X, predicting a wave of new products in the coming months. The first filings likely to benefit are those tracking Solana and XRP, both of which have sat in limbo for more than a year. SEC Chair Paul Atkins said the approval reflects a commitment to reduce barriers and foster innovation while maintaining investor protections. The move comes under the administration of President Donald Trump, which has signaled strong support for digital assets after years of hesitation during the Biden era. New Standards Replace Lengthy Reviews And Repeated Denials Until now, the commission reviewed each application separately, requiring one filing from the exchange and another from the asset manager. This dual process often dragged on for months and led to repeated denials. Even Bitcoin spot ETFs, finally approved in Jan. 2024, arrived only after years of resistance and a legal battle with Grayscale. According to Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, the streamlined rules could apply to any cryptocurrency with at least six months of futures trading on the Coinbase Derivatives Exchange. That means more than a dozen tokens may now qualify for listing, potentially unleashing a new wave of altcoin ETFs. SEC Clears Grayscale Large Cap Fund Tracking CoinDesk 5 Index The SEC also approved the Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund, which tracks the CoinDesk 5 Index, including Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana and Cardano. Alongside this, it cleared the launch of options linked to the Cboe Bitcoin US ETF Index and its mini contract, broadening the set of crypto-linked derivatives on regulated US markets. Analysts say the shift shows how far US policy has moved. Where once regulators resisted digital assets, the latest changes show a growing willingness to bring them into the mainstream financial system under established safeguards
