Gate Pay Unveils Institutional Account for Seamless Merchant Payment Management

Gate Pay, a leading crypto payment solutions provider, has announced an exclusive service for merchants. Particularly, Gate Pay has introduced Institutional Accounts to offer seamless payment management at different levels for merchants. As per Gate Pay’s official X announcement, the new framework allows multi-level and inclusive account management. Additionally, the service eliminates the institutional requirement to develop and maintain complicated internal accounting mechanisms.

Gate Pay Provides Merchants with Multi-Level Payment Management

With the launch of the new Institutional Accounts feature, Gate Pay endeavors to streamline the merchant experience with multi-level account management. The development provides the platform with a scalable infrastructure provider for business payments across diverse use cases and clients. The feature targets institutions that manage downstream users. Thus, the Gate Pay Institutional Accounts feature permits entities to efficiently onboard diverse users into a centrally controlled management structure that leverages proper authorization.

Apart from that, this framework includes an institutional account that operates as the main control entity, whereas the merchants can create diverse autonomous sub-accounts according to business lines, application scenarios, or clients. Each of the sub-accounts remains operationally isolated and clearly attributed, guaranteeing accountability and transparency across entities. Via API-based account permission management and creation, institutions get control over multi-entity and complex operations.

The latest system also brings resilient settlement and transfer capabilities at the sub-account scale. Sub-accounts can offer payee account features in terms of order creation. As a result, the users can make payments to their designated platforms with precision. At the same time, the institutions can support rapid asset conversion, settlements, refunds, withdrawals, and swaps, covering crucial scenarios across fund distribution and payment acceptance. The respective design enables institutions to manage different financial workflows while maintaining full operational clarity without any friction.

Reaffirming Commitment to Improve Institutional Accounts for Regulatory Compliance

According to Gate Pay, the Institutional Account feature highlights its objective of delivering more controllable and clearer multi-account management instruments for institutions and merchants. By backing effective settlements and stable operations in complicated business structures, this development addresses a crucial requirement in exclusive digital payments. Moreover, the platform has also disclosed its strategy to further improve Institutional Account capabilities to cope with the regulatory requirements and merchant demands.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
