UK Financial Ltd Completes Compliance for SEC-Ready ERC-3643 Token Ahead of CATEX Trading

UK Financial Ltd confirmed that it has completed a series of internal compliance and technical preparations related to the planned transition of the MayaCat digital asset framework. The preparations relate to the introduction of a structured ERC-3643-based token configuration intended for future exchange trading, subject to applicable regulatory review and approvals.

The company stated that the actions undertaken are part of its broader efforts to align its digital asset infrastructure with evolving regulatory and institutional requirements.

Compliance Preparations Completed

According to UK Financial Ltd, the following technical and operational measures have been implemented as part of the transition process:

  • Deployment of ERC-3643 structured token contracts
  • Activation of on-chain identity and compliance registries
  • Implementation of transfer-validation logic within token contracts
  • Establishment of auditable on-chain supply controls
  • Whitelisting of the CATEX exchange custodial wallet for testing and compliance purposes
  • Introduction of transfer restrictions designed to limit interaction to verified wallets
  • Ongoing updates to compliance and identity-related smart contracts, as required

The company noted that these measures are intended to support a regulated digital asset framework, though final exchange trading remains subject to external review and clearance.

CATEX Trading Update

UK Financial Ltd indicated that CATEX may begin discontinuing trading support for the legacy ERC-20 MayaCat (MCAT) token as part of the transition process.

Once discontinued, legacy MCAT tokens will no longer represent the updated structured asset framework. The company advised that holders should refrain from transferring legacy MCAT tokens to CATEX once the phase-out process begins.

Future exchange-based trading of MayaCat-related assets, if approved, is expected to occur under the updated structured token configuration.

Governance Vote Scheduled

UK Financial Ltd also confirmed that an online governance vote is scheduled for January 31, 2026, relating to the future structure of the Secure Futures Program, which is positioned as an evolution of the Maya Preferred Retirement Plan.

Participation in the vote will be open to eligible investors and token holders, with voting conducted through an online governance portal to be hosted on the company’s official website.

Matters Proposed for Governance Consideration

Items expected to be presented for governance consideration include, but are not limited to:

  • Distribution structure options
  • Custodial and settlement frameworks
  • Retirement-plan and secured-futures structures
  • Additional compliance-related matters to be disclosed prior to the vote

Any structural changes would be subject to the outcome of the governance process.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
