Will Harry Kane Ever Return To The Premier League?

Harry Kane’s last three seasons in the Bundesliga have been a roaring success. The English striker has set all kinds of scoring records in the German top division and has spearheaded a Bayern Munich team that is establishing a new level of dominance. Kane made the right decision to leave the Premier League.

Such is the 32-year-old’s satisfaction in Bavaria that it has been recently reported that he could sign a new contract to extend his stay at Bayern Munich beyond the summer of 2027. The signing of a new contract would effectively confirm Kane will spend the rest of his career in the Bundesliga.

“Harry has great confidence in us and he feels comfortable in Munich,” said Bayern Munich chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen when asked about the prospect of Kane signing a new contract to stay with the German champions. “He and his family are settled in. Therefore we’ve got absolutely no reason to rush.”

One wonders how many Premier League clubs are monitoring Kane’s situation and would be disappointed by his decision to stay at Bayern Munich. Tottenham Hotspur reportedly holds a buyback clause on its former player while others have been linked with the England captain in the past.

Pep Guardiola wanted Kane to be Manchester City’s new centre forward before Erling Haaland pitched up at the Etihad Stadium. In some ways, Kane would have been a better fit for City than Haaland such is the level of his all-round game. Kane is much better than Haaland in possession.

Manchester United could certainly do with a striker at Kane’s level. The Old Trafford club spent roughly $80m to sign Benjamin Sesko last summer, highlighting United’s desperation for a new attackinhg focal point. Sesko has potential, but has struggled to find his feet in the Premier League this season.

Arsenal spent a similar amount on Viktor Gyokeres in the belief that the Swedish international would provide the firepower to win the Premier League title. Gyokeres, however, has scored just six league goals this season and has faced criticism for not making more of an impact.

If Kane wanted a return to the Premier League either this summer or at the end of his current contract in 2027, he would have no shortage of offers. The Bundesliga, however, has been good for him and there’s more for him to achieve at Bayern Munich with this season’s Champions League title a target. There’s no real reason for him to go back.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
