MANILA, Philippines – The impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte at the Senate will be open to the public when it begins on Monday, July 6, but seating will be limited.
In an advisory issued on Thursday, July 2, the Senate said it would allocate 61 seats to members of the public for each day of the impeachment trial.
Those who wish to attend the proceedings in person may register online through the Senate Visitor Management System (VMS). Admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the order of successful registration through the VMS.
To register, visitors must log in to the portal, select their preferred trial date and the “Impeachment Trial” option, fill out the required information, upload the necessary documents, and comply with the registration requirements.
The registration will be open to the public at 2 pm, a day before the scheduled trial date.
“Everyone is expected to maintain proper decorum at all times and comply with all rules and regulations while inside the Senate premises,” Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr. said. – Rappler.com
