Samsung Q3 2026 Earnings Preview: Date, Memory Profit, HBM4 and What SK Hynix's Beat Signals

Samsung Electronics will present its full Q3 2026 results on an earnings call at 10:00 a.m. Korea time on Thursday, October 29, 2026, which is 9:00 a.m. Beijing time and 9:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 28. Samsung already guided operating profit of about ₩107.4 trillion on October 8, so the call is about the memory breakdown, HBM4 and the Q4 outlook, a day after SK hynix beat forecasts by about 8%.

When does Samsung report Q3 2026 earnings?

Samsung confirmed the schedule in its Q3 2026 earnings release notice. The presentation and a live audio webcast are on Samsung Investor Relations, with English interpretation.
  • Seoul (KST): 10:00 a.m. on Thu Oct 29
  • Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore: 9:00 a.m. on Thu Oct 29
  • New York (EDT): 9:00 p.m. on Wed Oct 28, a few hours after Microsoft and Alphabet report
  • London (GMT): 1:00 a.m. on Thu Oct 29

What has Samsung already told investors about Q3?

Samsung published preliminary figures on October 8. According to its Q3 2026 earnings guidance:
  • Revenue: about ₩195 trillion, up about 14% from Q2 and 127% from a year earlier
  • Operating profit: about ₩107.4 trillion, up about 20% from Q2 and nearly nine times the ₩12.17 trillion of a year earlier
Operating profit beat the LSEG SmartEstimate of ₩106.1 trillion by about 1%, but the shares fell 0.93% that day to ₩266,000. The preliminary release gave no breakdown by business.

What are analysts expecting from the full results?

Because the headline numbers are already out, the focus is on where the profit came from. Korean analysts quoted by Jaekyung Ilbo expect:
  • Memory operating profit: close to ₩110 trillion, about ₩80 trillion from DRAM and ₩30 trillion from NAND. That is more than the whole company's guided profit
  • Foundry and System LSI: still losing money, but less than in Q2
  • Phones and consumer electronics: the device division lost about ₩0.8 trillion in Q2 because of higher component costs, and the Q3 loss could exceed ₩1 trillion
  • Q4 operating profit: consensus of ₩116.35 trillion

What to watch in Samsung's Q3 2026 results

  • Memory margin against SK hynix: SK hynix reported an 80% operating margin for Q3. Samsung's chip division earned ₩89.2 trillion on ₩127.5 trillion of revenue in Q2, a margin of about 70%, according to Quartz. A narrower gap would suggest Samsung is catching up on high-value products
  • HBM4: on its Q2 call, Samsung said HBM4 revenue would more than triple in Q3 and make up 60% of its HBM revenue in the second half. Investors will check whether it delivered
  • Q4 outlook and long-term contracts: in July, Samsung said supply would stay tight into 2027 and it had locked in contracts with its top five data center customers. SK hynix said on October 28 that contracts now cover more than half of its 2027–2028 capacity, so Samsung will be compared on the same measure
  • Memory prices: TrendForce expects conventional DRAM contract prices to rise 10% to 15% and NAND prices 15% to 20% in Q4

What happened after Samsung's last report?

Samsung reported Q2 2026 results on July 30, with operating profit of ₩89.5 trillion, against estimates of ₩88.13 trillion, and revenue of ₩171.5 trillion, slightly below forecasts. The shares rose more than 7% during the session then closed 0.72% lower. In both July and October, record numbers that matched expectations did not lift the stock, which suggests the bar for a positive reaction is a clear beat on the outlook.

What does SK hynix's Q3 result signal for Samsung?

SK hynix reported operating profit of ₩83.33 trillion on October 28, about 8% above forecasts, and raised its 2026 shareholder returns to about ₩100 trillion. Its shares rose almost 7% in Seoul, and Samsung rose 7.55% by mid-morning, according to Digital Daily. That rally has already priced in some good news for Samsung before its own call.

How is Samsung trading on MEXC before the report?

MEXC's Samsung perpetual futures contract, SAMSUNGSTOCK_USDT, trades 24/7, so it will be open when Samsung presents its results at 9:00 a.m. Beijing time. It traded at 172.15 USDT at 7:00 a.m. Beijing time on October 28, before SK hynix's results, and rose to 182.10 USDT by about 9:40 a.m., a gain of about 5.8% (MEXC public futures API).
24/7 trading lets you react outside Korean market hours, but liquidity is thinner overnight, so the price can move sharply when the Seoul market opens. Our guide on how to trade stock futures on MEXC explains margin and liquidation, and you can follow the contract on the SAMSUNGSTOCK_USDT futures page.
