According to Odaily Planet Daily, Mirae Asset Consulting has increased its ownership of South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Korbit to 97.15%. The transaction totaled approximately KRW 141.4 billion, equivalent to around $95 million to $102 million. Korbit will be renamed Digital X, while its operating entity, customer deposits, and core trading services will remain unchanged for the time being. Mirae Asset plans to develop the platform into integrated digital asset infrastructure connecting RWA tokenization, security tokens, stablecoins, traditional securities, and digital assets.
Wise to Reapply for a U.S. National Trust Bank Charter Under the GENIUS Act
According to Cointelegraph, payments company Wise plans to reapply to the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for a national trust bank charter under the framework of the stablecoin regulatory law known as the GENIUS Act. The OCC previously rejected its application, citing insufficient evidence of effective anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing systems. Wise is expected to remain focused on reducing cross-border payment costs rather than relying on a single payment channel. According to Odaily Planet Daily, South Korean trading company POSCO International and LG CNS are conducting a pilot that places real-time trade accounts receivable on the Injective blockchain to improve payment efficiency among POSCO’s global subsidiaries. According to Odaily Planet Daily, Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina said Bill No. 1194918-8 applies different restrictions to qualified and non-qualified investors to protect ordinary investors from high volatility and the risk of overseas assets being frozen. The bill proposes an annual cryptocurrency purchase limit of RUB 300,000 for non-qualified investors, while the limit for qualified investors would be ten times higher. According to a post on X by Tom Wan, Head of Data at Entropy Advisors, Monad has reduced its block time to 300 milliseconds, further shortening on-chain transaction confirmation delays. Solana is also moving from approximately 400 milliseconds toward a target of 200 milliseconds, while Arbitrum and Robinhood Chain currently maintain block times of approximately 250 milliseconds and 100 milliseconds, respectively.
