OddsEngine (ODDS) Information
OddsEngine is a forecasting engine for daily high temperature markets on Polymarket. Every day, Polymarket lists markets on the highest temperature in around 50 cities worldwide, each split into temperature brackets that settle on the reading of an official weather station, usually at an airport. OddsEngine pulls ensemble forecasts from several global weather models for the exact settlement station, corrects them with each station’s measured history, turns them into a probability for every bracket and compares those probabilities with market prices. When the engine’s estimate differs clearly from the market, it publishes a call: three adjacent brackets, the price and a suggested split for a given stake. Every call is published before the station reports and is scored publicly afterwards. $ODDS is the access token for the engine’s live calls and tools.
OddsEngine (ODDS) Tokenomics: Key Metrics Explained and Use Cases
Understanding the tokenomics of OddsEngine (ODDS) is essential for analyzing its long-term value, sustainability, and potential.
Key Metrics and How They Are Calculated:
Total Supply:
The maximum number of ODDS tokens that have been or will ever be created.
Circulating Supply:
The number of tokens currently available on the market and in public hands.
Max Supply:
The hard cap on how many ODDS tokens can exist in total.
FDV (Fully Diluted Valuation):
Calculated as current price × max supply, giving a projection of total market cap if all tokens are in circulation.
Inflation Rate:
Reflects how fast new tokens are introduced, affecting scarcity and long-term price movement.
Why Do These Metrics Matter for Traders?
High circulating supply = greater liquidity.
Limited max supply + low inflation = potential for long-term price appreciation.
Transparent token distribution = better trust in the project and lower risk of centralized control.
High FDV with low current market cap = possible overvaluation signals.
